Ukraine didn’t support Russia’s manipulative resolution at the UN

Ukraine in the UN General Assembly did not support the draft Russian resolution on combating the glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to the escalation of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and intolerance. This resolution was also not supported by most European countries.

As the Foreign Ministry explained, the text of the Russian resolution is silent about the fact that the end of World War II did not become a victory over totalitarian ideologies and that one of its results was the strengthening of the communist regime and the enslavement of individual European peoples. The Russian Federation also justifies the signing of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact.

“The Russian Federation continues to stubbornly deny the recognition of the organization of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as an act of genocide of the Ukrainian people and the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people of 1944, like other peoples,” added in the ministry.

The department noted that the end of the war against Ukraine should become a real confirmation of Russia’s commitment to the fight against intolerance and racial discrimination.
