The hearings in the case of the Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 shot down over Donbass are resuming in the Netherlands.

“Now that the pre-trial stage has ended on November 25, 2020, the hearing on the merits is approaching. Approved investigations must now be initiated and completed. The court does not believe it is necessary to complete all of the investigations prior to the commencement of the merits hearing. However, it should be clear which ones are still pending and how long they will take,” the statement said.

During the last hearing on some of the motions of the defense of one of the defendants, Russian Oleg Pulatov, the court decided to conduct additional investigations, the execution of which is entrusted to the investigating judge.

Further in the court session, the lawyers of the relatives and lawyers of the accused Pulatov will be invited to speak. There will also be an opportunity to respond to the representatives of the prosecutor’s office.
