Israel has approved the use of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine. The Ministry of Health has approved the delivery of 6 million doses of the vaccine.

It is the third state to approve the use of Moderna’s coronavirus vaccine and the first outside of North America. In December, the vaccine received approval for use in the US and Canada.

The company has expressed hope that the vaccine will soon receive approval in other markets as well. Deliveries of the vaccine are now being considered in the EU, the UK, Singapore, Switzerland.

The Israeli government will discuss next week tightening the current quarantine. It should be aimed at boosting the economy as soon as possible.

On Friday, the millionth patient was vaccinated in Israel with the first dose. More than 10% of the country’s population has already been vaccinated against the coronavirus.
