An active group of boats with the involvement of naval aviation of the Navy of Ukraine together with an American destroyer and a support ship conducted joint training at sea of the PASSEX type in the waters of the Black Sea.

This was reported by the press service of the command of the Ukrainian Navy.

The purpose of the training was to ensure safety in the Black Sea, improve the training and compatibility of the crews of Ukrainian and U.S. Navy ships to perform joint maritime operations as part of multinational tactical groups.

All elements of the training were planned and practiced in accordance with NATO standards and procedures.

“PASSEX type training is a great opportunity to improve skills, maritime training and exchange of experience between the crews of our ships,” said Captain 1st Rank Yury Fedash, commander of the Ukrainian Navy Flotilla.

According to him, constant participation of Ukrainian naval forces in “PASSEX” type trainings promotes the increase of mutual compatibility and mastering of NATO standards.
