Secret Russian information network has been exposed

The Graphika research group today published a 120-page report exposing the network’s work started in 2014. Its main purpose was to influence international politics using fake news and fake documents.

The researchers called the operation “Secondary Infektion”. Since 2014, it has implemented thousands of publications on more than 300 Internet platforms.

One of the main objectives of information operations was Ukraine.

The group “aims to exacerbate differences between countries, trying to turn Poles against Germans, Germans against Americans, Americans against the British and absolutely everyone against Ukrainians”.

Secondary Infektion worked in parallel with the Internet Research Agency of “Chef Putin” Evgeny Prigozhin and GRU but used more secretive methods.

Specifically, one-time accounts were used for information feeds, which were deactivated less than an hour after the information was posted.
