U.S. Senate has backed the National Defense Authorization Act for 2021 Fiscal Year, which provides $250 million in security assistance for Ukraine, UNIAN report.

The bill was backed by 86 senators, while 14 opposed it, as reported on the U.S. Senate’s website.

Among other things, the bill “provides $250 million in security assistance for Ukraine, requires a long-term plan for assistance to Ukraine, and supports NATO designation of Ukraine as an ‘enhanced opportunities partner.'”

In general, the 60th annual National Defense Authorization Act supports a total of $740.5 billion in fiscal year 2021 funding for national defense, consistent with the 2019 Bipartisan Budget Agreement.
